Podium Places for the British Minigolf Team
In June, the Great Britain team took part in the 2024 World Adventure Golf Masters at Bowling Brno in Czechia. The tournament took place over three days, with rounds on two courses for the first time in WAGM history, making it challenging for a squad which had just competed at the World Crazy Golf CHampionships in Hastings. Seve Kukielka had been to the course several times, and James Rutherford joined him at the World Adventure Golf Tour final, so their expertise was invaluable to help the team learn the Eva and Venus courses quickly.
The team competition was contested over eight rounds. As expected, the Czechia team took the top two places with Sweden in third. Great Britain’s teams came in 6th, just behind Austria, and 10th, with both teams ahead of the US team for the first time.
In the individual categories, Seve once again qualified for the overall top 18 final, the only player to do so in two overseas WAGMs, this time finishing in sixth place, only two shots off of a potential podium. Seve finished as the top non Czechia player which was an incredible achievement.
GB Squad (back row l-r) Paul Tutt, Martin Greenhead, Seve Kukielka, Paul Preston.
(Front row l-r) Will Donnelly, Simon Brown, Elena Teubler, James Rutherford.
In the Female Youth category, Elena Teubler won the silver, an amazing performance in her first WAGM, beating the experienced Swedish player and just behind the Czech player Anna Musilová. Elena hopes to take part in the World Youth Championships at Bowling Brno next Summer.

Female Youth Podium (L to R): Elena Teubler (2nd), Anna Musilová (1st), Rebecka Johansson (3rd)
There was an even more spectacular result for Great Britain, in the Mixed pairs event, our first entry in the category. Elena teamed up with Seve, qualifying in fifth place for the eight team final. The final was played over two rounds against some very experienced players, with each player taking alternate shots on each hole. A second round low score of 28, including four aces over the last four holes, saw Elena and Seve win an incredible and well deserved Silver medal.
Seve said “The whole week was just amazing. I just want to thank the whole GB team and everyone at home for their support, encouragement and congratulations in what has been my favourite minigolf experience to date. I hope we can achieve similar results in years to come.”

The feedback from the players in the GB team was that there was great team spirit and camaraderie, and that it was one of the best overseas experiences they have been part of, as well as being our most successful. Although tough, the courses were top quality and set in a beautiful landscape, with hospitality from the Bowling Brno team which will never be forgotten.
A special thanks to Ana Teubler in her support of the team and thanks once again to our kit sponsor Urban Crazy https://urbancrazy.com/
