Michael Smith makes it 75 all time strokeplay wins at Gloucester!

The Gloucester Aces hosted their third annual club open on the 21st of April 2024.

A field of 51 players made this the biggest edition of the Gloucester Open yet and it was the first open on the new 18 hole course. A new winner would be crowned as previous champions, Richard Maud and Seve Kukielka took to organise the days proceedings.

The tournament once again was closely fought with UK number one Michael Smith picking up his 75th all time ranking event win after shooting -13 over 3 rounds. He beat 11 year old Julian Teubler by 1 shot who put in an incredible performance for his age shooting -12. Third place went to this season’s in form player, Martin Greenhead who was beaten in a playoff on hole 4 by Julian.

Outside of the podium for the remaining cash positions we had a three way tie involving three James’s. Hollinrake, Teubler and Shaw were all tied on -9. After a 3 way playoff James Teubler took home 4th, James Hollinrake 5th and James Shaw 6th. Chris Smith finished in 7th and took the last cash position.

It was a great day of minigolf and Gloucester Aces look forward to welcoming all back for their 2025 tournament.
