Michael Smith kicks off 2024 in style!

The BMGA kicked off 2024 with the newly established British Indoor Minigolf Open. The inaugural event took place at Volcano Falls Adventure Golf in Castleford.

25 players were present to crown the first winner on a course that has never previously been played in a BMGA event.

Michael Smith stormed to a convincing victory with an impressive 3 round score of -22. He beat his clubmate Seve Kukielka by 7 shots who finished on -15. Foxes Minigolf Captain, James Shaw completed the podium a further 3 shots behind on -12.

A Novice Championship was also held for players playing in their first BMGA strokeplay event. Paul Reynolds from the Gloucester Aces took home the trophy ahead of David Woodcock and Jane Paradise.

It was a successful event on a great indoor course where plenty of Aces could be made. He hope to return to the venue in the coming years.
