Seve Wins Where It All Began

The BMGA were back in Taunton for the first time since 2006 for the English Open.

The 2006 event was Seve Kukielka’s tour debut, so it was only fitting that the Gloucester Aces captain took the win. Thanet Silverbacks’ James Hollinrake scored his best ever result in 2nd to make it a Welsh 1-2, with Hastings and Scotland’s Ted McIver beating Thanet’s Andy Exall in a playoff to complete the podium.

The scoring was low, with an astonishing 765 aces across the 4 rounds and only 3 players finishing over par.

The absolute highlight of the event however was Eric Poon. Flying in from Hong Kong to play, via the Ryder Cup.
