Gloucester Aces Crowned Inaugural Champions of the 2025 BMGA Club Shield

We are pleased to confirm the final standings for the first-ever BMGA Club Shield season with Gloucester Aces Minigolf Club emerging as emphatic champions following a dominant and consistent campaign across the 2025 tour.

Introduced for the 2025 season, the BMGA Club Shield was created to recognise overall club strength, rewarding depth, participation and team performance across the association’s ranking events. Unlike traditional individual-based titles, the Club Shield celebrates the collective competitive quality within each club, with points awarded based on the top three eligible BMGA-member scores at each tournament.

Across the season’s events, clubs earned 12, 9, 6 and 3 points for finishing in the top four based on their three-player averages, with points proportionally reduced for teams fielding fewer than three eligible competitors.

Aces Shine Across the Season

From the outset, Gloucester Aces set the pace, collecting points at event after event to build a commanding advantage. Their final total of 132 points reflects both their competitive depth and their ability to field strong line-ups throughout the season. The Aces’ lead at the top of the table makes them worthy inaugural champions of the new competition and in spite of early challenges from Strokes Minigolf Club their consistency and presence across tournaments throughout the year has led to their dominant victory.

Strokes and Foxes Battle for the Podium

The race for second place was far closer. Strokes Minigolf Club finished runners-up with 69 points, narrowly edging out Foxes Minigolf Club, who closed the season on 67 points. Both clubs delivered strong performances across multiple events, regularly placing inside the top four and demonstrating the balanced quality necessary to challenge for the Shield.

Competitive Mid-Table Showing

Behind the leading trio, a cluster of clubs delivered solid and improving performances:

• Dragons Minigolf Club – 29 points

• Hastings Minigolf Club – 27 points

• Thanet Silverbacks – 14 points

• Gemini Golf Club – 3 points

While not challenging the frontrunners this season, each of these clubs secured valuable results and demonstrated growing strength in depth. With the Club Shield designed to encourage wider participation, 2025 has already shown promising development across the BMGA’s club structure.

A New Era for Club Level Competition
