British Open

The British Open is the longest running minigolf event in Britain and is one of the most prestigious adventure golf tournaments in the world. Established in 1998, the first event was held at a course in Broomfield Park in London. The inaugural champion was Thomas Zeininger from Austria. In the years to follow, the Open always had a strong International presence with some of the top European players vying alongside Britain’s finest for the title.

It took 13 years for the first British player to win on home soil when Marc Chapman was victorious in the 2010 championship held at Mr Mulligans, Sidcup. Incredibly, since 2010 no international player has won the Open. 5 different British players have triumphed over the past 15 years with Michael Smith winning 9 Open championships. The most recent champion is Adam Kelly who won his 3rd Open at the Pirate course, Hastings in September of 2025.

We had an incredible array of international talent at the tournament last year and we look forward to welcoming our guests back next year. The tournament will once again feature as part of the World Adventure Golf Tour with the winner gaining an automatic place in the final in 2027.
