British Doubles Matchplay
The British Doubles Matchplay is one of the most popular events on tour and this year will be held as part of the double header weekend with the Foxes Open at Play2Day Wisbech.
This will be the first time a matchplay event has been hosted at the UrbanCrazy designed course in Wisbech.
The doubles were first held in 2006 and the first pair to claim the title were Jon Angel and Keith Kellard. There have been many many winners over the years but some players have seen success across multiple pairings including Will Donnelly, Michael Smith, Chris Harding and Andy Exall to name but a few. The defending champions are Aces pair Simon Brown and Seve Kukielka.
The course at Wisbech will certainly be interesting for a matchplay event as aces can be hard to come by but if players attack the course slightly more then they may find they get the rewards.
Doubles will compete over 12 holes in alternate shot matchplay format: the holes will be 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17
