Home Advantage Holds True For Seve
The Gloucester Aces hosted their second annual club open on the 16th of April 2023.
A field of 42 players took to the 12 hole course at Aces Minigolf Gloucester to compete over 4 rounds for the chance at the Gloucester Aces Championship belt and £110.
The standard of play was exceptional with 23 players managing to score under par for their 4 rounds compared to just 13 in 2022. 8 blue rounds (19 or under) were posted by 8 different players. A huge congratulations goes to James Hollinrake for his remarkable first round of 17 and to both Seve Kukielka and novice Matthew McPherson for equalling the previous best of 18.
The tournament once again was closely fought with course owner Seve Kukielka picking up his second ranking event win this year by 1 shot (-15) over his Gloucester Aces teammate Michael Smith (-14). The performance of the day came from Cindy Kukielka who finished on the podium for the first time, shooting an incredible 85 (-11)
Outside of the podium was just as close with James Hollinrake, Ted McIver and Paul Tutt all tied on 86 (-10). James managed to win a 3 way playoff at the 1st hole to claim 4th overall and also won the Cat 2/3/4 1st place medal. Ted eventually beat Paul on Hole 4 to secure 5th place with Paul rounding out the top 6.
It was a great day of minigolf and Gloucester Aces look forward to welcoming all back for their 2024 tournament.
