A few words from the Champions:
Andy “Really pleased to get my first win in the Doubles since pairing up with Trev at Warwick back in the noughties. I don’t think either of us thought we’d do very well but the unpredictability of the course along with a lot of luck helped us a lot throughout the day. Dunton is perfect for Matchplay & a great leveller, Cam played very well all day long & sank some great 2nd putts which is key to winning holes there.
The final was a great tense affair, proper matchplay! James & James wanted it too so I was very relieved it didn’t go to sudden death, Cam was dead calm though – the boy has ice in his veins!
Thanks to our opponents for being good sports, the EC for a great competition & the course owners for giving up the course for the competition, much appreciated. Thanks to Cam too for being a great partner!”
Cameron “ I like Dunton Hills, it is the hardest course we play, it has no windmills or pipe holes, you just have to putt. Luckily I had one of the best putters I know as my partner, thank you Andy Exall I was so happy we won.
I played with another Exall last year, that is where I learnt what lines not to use.
Thanks to BMGA and everyone that has supported me in minigolf”
In the Plate Competition it was the Hastings duo Putt Putt with Novis and Tutt, Tim Novis and Paul Tutt who emerged victorious with an impressive 7&5 victory over Sharp Turns, John Sharp and Alan Turner (Thanet). The Kak Handers, Dave Gomm and Dave Fincher (Hastings) took the Bronze Medal defeating The Looney Gooners Neil and Ayshe Tann (Strokes) 1up in Bronze Medal Match.

EC overview. “ Dunton Hills is the ideal matchplay course where no putt can be taken for granted. And what an achievement for both Andy and Cameron, who didn’t play on the saturday, to turn up on the morning of the competition with no practice and remain undefeated throughout the day. They fully deserved their victory”
